A renovation of an existing event space and host to community gatherings.
As a small business, Paikka sought to better control fluctuating vendor rates through an exclusive event space liquor license and subsequent bar build-out. After rezoning the site to a Commercial Development District that overlays the current Creative Enterprise Zone, we worked closely with the City of St. Paul to develop both the bar and catering operating program and their architectural requirements. What started as an improved business plan created opportunity to better spatialize zones of social interactions and engagement for future events.
